Ethics, Accountability and Performance

At the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation, our staff and board of directors are unconditionally committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical fundraising practices, transparency and financial accountability. We aspire to embody these principles and achieve these standards on a continual basis and in all that we do. Of foremost importance is our dedication to proper management and accurate allocation of donations to the hospital; diligent reporting to all stakeholders; and our ongoing concerted efforts to lower the amount of expenses incurred for every dollar raised. Moreover, we stringently adhere to the Donor Bill of Rights (developed by the AHP*, AFP*, CASE* and the Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits), which states that: "Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To assure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights…" Please click the link below to view the full Donor Bill of Rights
